Building Grit - 4 Habits of Resilient Men
Life gets complicated. Pressure builds. Obstacles hit. A voice whispers, "Just give up." But… you're not built to quit. You're built to win. The Spirit of God within you has already won the victory and will lead you into victory. Sometimes the key is just a matter of habit. Your daily walk. I’ve been able to ask some great leaders questions. From their answers, I've learned that endurance, grit, tenacity, and faith are core ingredients in the hearts of men who walk through some of life's toughest battles. But these qualities aren't accidental - they're intentional. These are the qualities...
Stop Believing Lies About Yourself
Have you ever asked, What's my story? It’s important because your identity is the story you tell yourself about yourself. The voice in your head tells you who you are and the size of your capacity. But is it speaking the truth? The height of a building is fully predicated on the depth and strength of its foundation. A foundation build on bedrock will stand the test of time. Men too often are shackled to past mistakes we can’t shake. Worse, we tend to allow other people to write our stories. At CMN, we teach, “If you allow others to...
This Redefines Everything
As we approach Easter, let’s review our core beliefs. Two beliefs change the way we live: 1. What we believe about God 2. How we define ourselves. Paul wrote in Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” That means, if you want to change your life, you have to change the way you think. Motivational speakers have preached that truth ever since. First, what do you believe about God? Scripture states: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God...
The Brotherhood Is Mobilizing. Your Place Is Reserved.
You’re on the verge of new victories and taking a huge part in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. This is a fight that we as brothers are engaging in to set men free around us and around the world. When David went to war against Goliath, the Bible says he “ran to the battle.” It wasn’t even his fight. It was on behalf of others who were in fear. David took the initiative to run to the fight to win a victory for others. This is who you are. A man who cares enough to fight. We have powerful opportunities...
What in the dash?
I was fishing with my grandsons yesterday on their holiday, watching them as they intently waited for a hit from what they hoped was the biggest fish they'd ever caught. Cold and windy, not ideal, but we did manage a couple fat rainbow trout. As I watched them, I wondered what they would remember. They're 8 and 11 years old. What are the memories they'll have of their Papa? It's been said about tombstones, that chiseled between the dates of birth and death is just a dash. A full life is in that dash. How do I want my grandsons...
