Whenever you receive a promise in life, the enemy—or someone—will try to steal it. Always. Expect it. There is always resistance.
John said, “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10). I think he most often comes to destroy your dreams.
In Genesis chapter 15, we read how Abram received a promise from God. Though he had no children, he would someday be the father of a great nation. Abram received the promise of a great nation—even when he didn’t have any children—but he had to fight.
Abram made a covenant with God. The covenant wasn’t about making God keep His word. That was a given. The covenant was for Abram to fully commit to the process, to go all in.
Abram took some animals and, in the custom of the day, prepared to sacrifice them before God as a blood covenant.
As soon as Abram had prepared the sacrifices, the Bible records “...some vultures swooped down to steal the sacrifice...and Abram chased the vultures away.”
When the vultures came down to steal the sacrifice, Abram chased them away. He had to fight.
You have the authority of God’s promise in Christ. Today, fight for your destiny, your family, your ministry, your identity. Stand up and chase the vultures. FIGHT.
Noted church leader John Ed Mathison said, “Too often a prayer summit is just an excuse to not have to do anything.” Fighting is always about prayer and action. Don’t sit in a corner and wait for someone else … they’re not showing up.
Run to faith. Be in covenant with your dreams, fully committed. Willing to fight.
Stand up. Be a man of God. Be part of a brotherhood. Chase the vultures.
Finishing John 10:10, Jesus said, “... but I came to give you life and life to the fullest!”
That's our promise for 2026 ... LIFE TO THE FULLEST!
