Sometimes a man's story or a seemingly random encounter is such a God miracle, it's almost hard to believe. It happened last week as CMN Mexico conducted powerful events across the nation. Hundreds of men's lives transformed and churches strengthened. I'm flying home today, but here's the story...
After one great event we sat at coffee with Alejandro Escobedo, who pastors a significant church in Mexico City. He told us that twenty-eight years ago, when he was a young pastor, he went to a meeting with Dr. Ed Cole in Mexico City.
A businessman traveling with Dr. Cole gave his testimony. It deeply impacted Pastor Alejandro. The businessman spoke about integrity and starting with humble beginnings. For Alejandro, it was unforgettable. Practical. Encouraging.
Traveling with me last week was Timothy Meza, a young businessman from San Angelo, Texas. I had asked Timothy to come experience what God was doing because his late father, Raymond Meza, had invested in getting Hombria al Maximo (Maximized Manhood) produced in Spanish-speaking countries.
Timothy and I ate lunch the next day with Pastor Alejandro. Again, Alejandro spoke about the businessman who had so strongly influenced him. Then he said, “I do not remember his name … but I remember he built fences.”
Shocked, I turned to him, then pointed to Timothy … “That was his father!”
Raymond Meza had built a large fencing company before he passed away three years ago. Now, his grown son Tim, who works in the same company, was sitting next to a man who had been deeply impacted by his father years ago.
The pastor jumped up with tears in his eyes and grabbed Timothy in an embrace. Alejondro exclaimed, "Gracias, gracias, gracias a Dios por tu padre!" (Thank you to God for your father).
Raymond's son goes on a mission to help reach men, then hears the remarkable story of the lasting impact Raymond had made on a young man in Mexico who is now reaching thousands of people for Jesus. Only God.
Raymond wasn't a preacher or speaker. But he was a man with a story of what God had done in his life.
You have a story of what Jesus has done in your life.
Tell it. Don't stop. You never know the life you may impact for generations.
This story is why we give to missions. This is why we cross the globe to reach a man. It's exponential. Because when a man is discipled in Christ, everything changes.
