It was the start of a new school year, and the teacher was calling out the names of students in the fresh third-grade class. She said, "Where's Gene?" The excited little boy raised his hand. The teacher said, "You'll probably be a mess just like your brothers were."
Gene's face flushed with embarrassment. A few years earlier, he had been molested by his grandfather. His dad was no longer around, and then the teacher put the final negative word on him.
For years, Gene dealt with negative self-image and all that comes with it as a fatherless boy. He gained weight, did drugs, and moved through his teenage years without purpose.
Then he went to a youth group at a local church. He met Jesus as his savior. Something new began to stir in his heart. That church had men who did the CMN curriculum and discipled the men and young men.
Through those men, family, and friends who loved Gene, he began to find his identity in Christ. Gene forgave the people who hurt him. He read Maximized Manhood (https://cmn.men/products/maximized-manhood-1) and began to put its principles into practice. Over time, his life changed.
Today, Gene is happily married, the father of two great children, and a high-performing insurance salesman... and one day you may talk to him if you call the CMN offices.
As Gene went through the Majoring in Men discipleship, listened to the voice of God, heard Jesus speak to him through friends ... Gene was set free.
We rescue men.
We lead men to Jesus.
Jesus makes men new.
This is why I'm urging you to take young men through the Majoring in Men discipleship, why we urge every father to do the same. It's why we urge every church to access the CMN resources ... because they work.
When a man is discipled in Christ. It changes everything.
