You could feel it from the hallway, a room full of leaders focused, locked in, pens moving, taking notes, listening to Otto Kelly at a recent Master the Art of Discipling Men event.
CMN leaders explained that the ministry works in any culture, with men from all parts of society.
A young leader visiting the US from Uganda shot his hand in the air…
"But will this work even in Uganda?”
“Ever hear of GLOVIMO?” Otto asked.
“Yes,” the man said, “we all know that ministry in Uganda.”
“That’s us,” Otto said.
Here’s the short background. In 1987, Uganda was the epicenter of the fast growing global AIDS epidemic. Colonized by the British, yet polygamous by culture, the average Ugandan man had 7 sexual partners a year.
Then Alex went home with one book.
Alex Mitala was a concerned minister visiting the U.S. By chance, and I think God’s direction, he wandered into an Ed Cole, CMN event. That week, he went home to Kampala, Uganda, with ONE BOOK, Maximized Manhood, and taught ONE CMN LESSON called “The Glory of Virginity” to leaders. The leaders started the Glory of Virginity Movement – GLOVIMO – that swept the nation, urging people to save their virginity (and their children’s) for marriage. AIDS decreased. God anointed success.
ONE teaching changed a nation and helped stop an epidemic. ONE book, Maximized Manhood, trained thousands of leaders across East Africa.
One teaching + one book + trained leaders = men’s movement.
That was yesterday’s crisis. Today’s crisis is the Middle East. Different culture. Different method. Same message - Christlike manhood.
The Middle East leaders want CMN teams to come and train, and they need books.
How many books? The gifts and donations from the brotherhood determine the number. Middle Eastern men have devoured Maximized Manhood. We need to print more. AND….
They’re asking for the next book, specifically, Strong Men in Tough Times.
The translation was paid for by you and other generous brothers already. The leaders there are ready, they are fired up.
When we see conflicts escalate, men generally sense the need to do something, anything. Here’s what we can do…
Let’s print more Maximized Manhood. And let’s print 1000’s of Strong Men in Tough Times books and workbooks. And, let’s get them across the Arab speaking nations.
Printing must begin by mid-August so that books can be delivered for key leadership gatherings throughout the Middle East in September. We’ll have team on the ground. They need to arrive with resources in hand.
If we miss the printing deadline, we miss the opportunity. The key leaders meeting in September have started a movement, and it's strong.

This isn’t just about books … it’s about changing the hearts of men by the power of the Holy Spirit! This is about placing biblical truth into the hands of men who will carry it farther than you or I ever could.
This is about multiplying disciples. This is about strengthening pastors. This is about rescuing fathers. This is about reuniting marriages. This is about raising sons. This is about building churches. This is about changing nations.
