Does a man's simple prayer make a difference? If it does, why don't we pray more? Does going out of our way for another person matter? If it does, why don't we do it more?
Author Mel Robbins recently made this statement: "The strongest emotion that stops people from taking a step toward their dreams is the sense that it just won't matter."
Let me share how one man's seemingly small action echoed through decades.
Some years ago in Kingman, Arizona, a father and mother were desperate. Their son was in an extremely difficult position—lost, struggling, living far from them and far from God.
Then one day, the phone rang. "Dad, I'm ready." Those three words changed everything. The father immediately went to get his son, redirected his path, and relocated him. Today, that son is a grown man with children of his own, walking firmly in God's ways.
But there was more to the story—something the father didn't know.
Years later, this father from Kingman met a pastor from Phoenix over coffee. The pastor asked, "Do you have any family in Phoenix?" "No, why?" the father said.
The pastor leaned forward. "About 20 years ago, I was having lunch with a friend in Phoenix. After the meal, my friend grabbed our young waiter's hand and prayed for him, even though the waiter said no at first. It was an anointed moment. For some reason, it was deeply emotional." The waiter told us his name and mentioned he was from Kingman—same last name as yours. I've kept that young man in my heart and prayers ever since." The father's eyes filled with tears. "That was my son."
That was his SON.
The simple prayer of a stranger became the first link in a chain that God used to save a young man's life, restore a family, and impact future generations.
A SEEMINGLY SMALL ACTION MATTERS.
Every day, CMN is discipling men, equipping them with the tools, training, and brotherhood to take these seemingly small actions that God multiplies beyond our imagination.
Handing a man the book that changes a life, the men's group that saves a marriage, the curriculum that transforms a prison cell—"small" things releasing God's power to create generational impact.
What you do right now—your next move—might not matter to everyone. BUT IT MATTERS TO SOMEONE.
That's why I'm asking you to become a CMN Guardian today with a monthly gift of any amount. Your faithful monthly support is a declaration that you stand with men who help for men who need help.
Let's be the men who take action. Let's be the men who do the things that matter.
Grab that waiter and say a prayer. Send that book to the inmate. Ask the uncle who has refused to attend the men's group the last 20 times. Small actions result in big change.
