The Power of One Man

A tough former College football star becomes the director of a crisis pregnancy center and rescues gang members on the streets of Reno.

Sounds like a movie but it’s the true story of our friend, CMN leader Otto Kelly.

Otto was a college football star, had a short time in the NFL, and is in the University of Nevada Wolfpack Hall of Fame. His NCAA record for a running back is legendary - but it almost didn't happen.

His is a powerful story of redemption.

Otto’s heart was broken as a young teenager when his father died. He wanted to quit everything, he was mad at God ... but that changed abruptly when he truly met Jesus Christ. Finding Jesus began the healing of his heart. Coaches became a source of direction in his life. (You can hear his amazing story on the Brave Men podcast)

After his football career ended with an injury, Otto led gang intervention for the Washoe County public services winning numerous accolades. Then, with his wife Joy, they were asked to lead a crisis pregnancy center in Reno, Nevada. It became a national model for results - helping hundreds of women and families over a 15 year period, saving hundreds of babies.

Today he is the Vice President of the Global Fatherhood Initiative for CMN. His focus is discipling men and raising up strong fathers across the nation. You can find more on Otto at DadAcademy.com.
