Terry scaled his life as few men do. Here's what he did.
A few days ago, my sisters and I received an extraordinary letter from his daughter. She wrote that for decades, her father called our dad, Ed Cole, his "spiritual father."
So, what Terry did was become a man that others could depend on.
He taught men at the local prison, showed up to help at church, taught his family, and was faithful in the ministry to men... he did what was expected of a man of God. To him, it was just what a man did.
What shocked us was what was in the envelope.
To honor their dad and to show their appreciation for the man of God he became, they received gifts at his memorial service for Christian Men's Network. Roughly two dozen checks and gifts were in that envelope and sent online. It was humbling and deeply honoring to see what he lived and what he taught.
And Terry left a powerful legacy. He scaled by living the life of a faithful man.
Your rewards will be in heaven, but your legacy on earth will outlive you by generations.
