The Key to Standing Strong

It’s easy to go negative in our world. Don't fall for it.

Thousands of negative messages blast us each day. With each one, the memory center of our brain embeds that message, and then so often it becomes a repeating loop.

Maybe we wake in the night and hear negative thoughts. Or we have "night terrors." But God's Word stops that. "You shall not be afraid of the terror by night" (Psalm 91:5 NKJV).

Without intervention, the negative messages stack and can trigger a host of issues - becoming indecisive, making decisions in fear, simmering anger, and a blurry outlook on life. But... God's Word washes our minds. "So that He might sanctify [us], having cleansed [us] by the washing of the water with the Word" (Eph 5:26/27 AMP).

Living with resilience, peace, and hope comes from trusting God and making His Word rule our minds. The Word provides a firm foothold for each day. "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You" (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV).

Christ did not conduct a rescue mission to catch us before we tumble over the abyss of total defeat and annihilation. Jesus came that we would be triumphant, victorious, and live in perfect peace.

Here's the key to standing strong. Daily, get in God’s Word.

Drive out the negative. When Jesus healed the daughter of Jairus in Mark 5. The first thing he did when he arrived at the house was kick out every negative person and attitude. He commanded them to leave, then commanded the girl to live. Negative out - new life in. The Word in action.

Read this sermon of Peter’s. Pray it out loud over yourself and the people you love:

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your young men shall see visions. Your old men shall dream dreams." Acts 2:17

There is not one man beyond the reach of grace. Not one nation is beyond the hand of God. Renewal and redemption are the inheritance of God's people. This is the promise of Jesus.

Don’t fall for the negative. Kick it out. Don't stress. Fill your mind with fresh, new life in the Word. Stand strong.

Let’s go!
