The First Words of The Risen King

The first words of the risen Christ aren’t shouted from a throne—they’re spoken into tears. Mary turns from an empty tomb and stands in the early morning shadows. Shattered. Confused. Grieving. Disoriented.

Then she sees Jesus. But she doesn't know who he is. Thinking he's a gardener, she asks, "Where have they taken him?"

Jesus doesn’t hit her with a sermon. He asks her a gentle question, “Why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?”

Great question for you and me, what's your focus? What are you after? Because a man’s life is shaped by what he’s seeking. Marcus Aurelius said, "The true worth of a man is measured by the objects he pursues.”

Jesus meets us during our most difficult moments and brings our focus back to Him.

Jesus doesn't preach to Mary or shame her... just brings light to her darkness.

He looks at her and says, "Mary." He calls her name. She turns to him. Joy fills her heart in the revelation of the risen Savior. Resurrection is not just an event—it’s personal. Jesus doesn't just conquer death—He calls you by name.

When she hears her name, everything changes. Confusion turns to clarity. Grief turns to revelation. Chaos turns to courage.

Then, in that moment of clarity, He says, "Go tell the others."

That's the pattern for you and me.

Jesus meets you in your chaos and confusion.

He speaks into your identity.

Then He sends you with a mission.

Somewhere, another man is standing in the same darkness you just walked through.

And your voice, your story, your encounter with Jesus will change everything for him.

Jesus didn’t give Mary a philosophy—He gave her a personal revelation ... and a mission. Go tell others.

That is our mission. To tell others about the risen Savior. HE IS RISEN. Now and forever King of Kings.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

We are men with a mission, and that mission is Jesus.
