I was with Eddy Leo ministering in Amsterdam. At four am, in the dark Dutch morning, I was jerked awake with a terrible dream. My first grandson was just two years old, and in my dream, he was being abused.
Troubled and prayerful, I knew immediately I was in the presence of the Lord. I was crying, my heart was beating hard. In an instant I knew Cameron was safe at home with his parents, but what I heard from the Lord was, “Boys and girls across the world are being abused right now. They need fathers.”
My heart broke. I fervently cried out to God for their lives. Then I grabbed my computer, searched the Internet about the plight of abused children. I was sickened by what I read. Child abuse, human trafficking, monstrous evil happening to children by the millions. Broken hearts and broken families.
A modern and almost-unseen holocaust is happening right in front of us. All around us. I began to write furiously as the Lord put it into my heart. The roots lay in the hearts of immature, unhealthy men.
How could we, our generation of fathers—the protectors and defenders of the family—stand by and do nothing?
A few months later, we announced our intention to launch the Global Fatherhood Initiative (GFI). Our friends encouraged us, and many gave a seed offering to get it started. At the next Lions Roar Summit, the brethren gathered bore witness to the vision.
GFI has produced the powerful and very successful Dangerous Nations global mission to the toughest places in the world. And it has now produced DadAcademy.com which is in Beta mode right now - a comprehensive online platform to raise up good fathers and rescue families.
In Jeremiah’s day, the people were in bondage. They were concerned about their future. They needed some men to stand up. God said, “Get up and prepare for action. Go out and tell them everything I tell you to say. Do not be afraid of them… For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”
That’s the word for us today. “Get ready brethren, gird your loins, it’s time for battle!”
Be in prayer, interceding on behalf of men, and the families and children they represent and are responsible for, all around the world.
We are CMN, we rescue men. Rescue a man, save a child. Rescue the children, save the world.
