My father taught me the three things God wanted in a man were consistency, decisiveness, and strength. It’s also what a woman wants in a man. Let that sink in …
Success is always the result of constancy of purpose. It’s not for lack of trying that most men fail; it’s for lack of consistent pursuit of the goal.
Bishop Dale C. Bronner, Pastor of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Atlanta and the Chairman of the CMN Ministry Board, has a powerful chapter in his book The Essentials of Excellence.
Bishop Bronner writes this about consistency:
“Someone has said, ‘Isn’t it funny how, day by day, nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different?’
“And entrepreneur Marie Forleo said, ‘Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally; it comes from what you do consistently.’ I realized early in life that goals don’t become reality overnight, but if you quit, they don’t happen at all.
“Excellence is not achieved in a single moment but through consistent, deliberate effort. Track-and-field Olympian Jim Ryun once said, ‘Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.’
”Good habits are formed over time, and consistency thrives on habit, taking you from inspiration to lasting success. Consistency is the engine that sustains progress, turns habits into greatness, and transforms potential into achievement.
“The results of consistency often appear gradually, but, over time, they compound into remarkable achievements. This principle, known as ‘The Compound Effect,’ emphasizes the idea that small, consistent actions yield significant outcomes.
“Consistency multiplies effort, creating results that far exceed the sum of their parts. For example;
“Exercising for thirty minutes at least five times a week leads to substantial physical and mental benefits over time.
“Saving a small amount of money on a regular basis grows into financial stability and security.
“Reading even a few pages each day results in a wealth of information and insight gained over the years.
“The power of consistency lies in its ability to create exponential growth from incremental efforts.
“Remember, excellence is not achieved through grand gestures but through the steady rhythm of consistent action. As you commit to consistency, you pave the way for a life of purpose, growth, and fulfillment.”
Brother, this mid-year season is when we put into motion the habits and consistent actions that will give this year a strong finish. Let’s make the second half the best half.
For the Kingdom,
Grace and Peace,
