Jesus ran into negative people every day. He dealt with them straight up. From casting out demons to tossing tables he was relentless in his dealing with negativity.
That’s how we need to live … in the same pattern. Here’s a brilliant example.
Jairus in the Bible was the father of a 12-year-old girl whom Jesus raised from the dead. Jairus was a ruler in the synagogue of Capernaum (Mark 5). At the risk of his reputation, Jairus came to Jesus, pleading with Him to come lay His hands on his only daughter, who was near death.
Because of Jairus’ humble spirit and great faith, Jesus followed him home.
On the way, a woman stopped Jesus. He healed her. But while that was happening, some people from Jairus’s house arrived and told Jairus his daughter was dead. No need to bother Jesus anymore. Jesus overheard the news and gave Jairus two commands and a promise: “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
So, Jesus and Jairus kept walking to the house. When they got there, the mourners were loudly wailing and weeping, but Jesus asked them, “Why all this loud crying and wailing? The child is not dead, she is just asleep.” The mourners were skeptical, rude and began to laugh and make fun of Jesus.
What did Jesus do? He kicked out all the negative people.
He made them leave the house!
Then he healed the little girl, raising her from the dead.
Do you have dreams that are dying? Relationships, jobs, or vision that seem to be on the downward slide? Can’t get past the anxiety of life? Dropkick the devil.
Kick negativity out of your house.
Don’t let negativity rent space in your brain. Kick it out – get in the Word, listen to worship, pray with your wife or a friend … take charge of your house. Recapture the dream, bring it back to life.
“Don’t be afraid; just believe, and your vision will be restored!”
Words of life – from the giver of life himself.
