Here’s the good news of Easter!
Take a moment and deepen the joy of this season in your life, and the lives of those around you. These are just three of the love-gifts that Jesus gave to you and me at the cross.
Forgiveness: We have been set free – the death sentence over our heads has been lifted, we can breathe in deeply the fresh air of new life in Christ! Forgiveness is the most powerful gift you can give to friends and loved ones.
His sacrifice on the cross released us from the bondage of sin. He gave us freedom. His forgiveness was not just to release us out of bondage, but into our destiny.
Jesus said; “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). John 10:10 AMP
Power: You have been given the authority to access the power of the Cross of Calvary, the blood, the empty tomb – victory over death, depression, sickness, and disease…all in the name of Jesus.
The Bible tells us that everywhere Jesus went He healed the sick and set at rest those who were in bondage. Two scriptures give us the clear picture of where you live today; First in Acts 1:8 we find the anointing of God that is available to every follower of Christ,
“But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.”
Then God follows up in 1 John 4:4 by declaring this, “…you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.”
Hope: In Jesus Christ we find hope. Hope is a force so powerful that it makes faith possible. Without hope, dreams die, destinies are destroyed and death is unchallenged.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 NIV
“Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5 AMP
Romans 15:13 says, “Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!
Jesus did all this and so much more for you and me! We’ve been taught that the confirmation of relationship is gratitude…right now, take a moment – thank the Lord for His life, His Spirit, His grace in your life.
Thank Him for brotherhood, peace, grace, mercy and his passionate love. Thank Him for the cross…and for the empty tomb.
Remember His benefits, recount the blessings He has placed over your life. Easter – we celebrate the light of hope and love – the light has come, His name is Jesus.
We pray you will sense the presence of God in your life today, and that you will experience a blessed Easter.
