Five Essentials to Build Your Core

Gaining strength and resilience is important in every area of life. For a positive workout physically, you have to work the core.  A strong core is essential because it stabilizes the entire body, protects the spine, improves balance and power, and enables you to perform every other movement with greater strength and efficiency. In the same way, we need ‘centering’ in our spiritual lives, a workout that develops a strong core.

Here are five things you can do right now. Turn off, turn on, read, pray, and speak life.

TURN OFF: Internet, sports radio, 24/7 news, streaming shows. Don’t dwell on negative media images and words. Don’t keep your mind open to the stress, restlessness, and rebellion of the culture. Turn off the negative streams.

TURN ON: Messages of faith, peace, and uplifting power. Podcasts with strong messages ... BraveMen (https://cmn.men/pages/bravemen) is a good one! Begin with the messages of your own pastor and leaders you know. Ask your pastor who he listens to - ask friends the same.

READ: Proverbs every morning. Read Psalms every evening. Follow the Bible reading plan in Majoring in Men workbooks [link Majoring in Men workbooks to - https://cmn.men/products/majoring-in-men-launch-kit]. Read positive books and articles. The Word will give you wisdom for the day and get courage working in your heart and soul in the evening. Great books will expand your mind. Don't binge media late at night - make reading a habit, it will help you rest and refresh you as you sleep.

PRAY: For yourself, for others you know, for those in authority, for your brothers and sisters around the world going through great trials. Prayer produces intimacy with God, with those you pray with, and for those whom you are praying for.  Prayer centers the heart.

SPEAK: Declare life over your world! Words have creative power. Pray God’s Word over yourself. It is medically proven that when your voice is speaking positive words, your mind cannot entertain the negative. You could start with Psalm 37. Read it aloud, over you, your family, your business. How? Just insert your name, the names of others, as you read it like a prayer to the Lord. He is faithful to perform His Word. Your heart will hear your words of life and respond.

Make this spiritual workout a habit. Not just a resolution - but a daily practice to build your core. A strong core will stabilize your life, protect your heart, balance your thoughts, and give you the power to fulfill your mission.

Your family and friends depend on you. You’re the hero your children look to. You need a strong core.

You can do this. Just START.
