Dispatch From Vietnam

UPDATED: September 4, 2026

We're on a flight to other key cities after tremendous meetings with leading pastors in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.

Heart disease is now the leading cause of death, representative of an economy which enables excess ... alcohol abuse, child abuse, and other social issues have grown.

This nation is now the target of profiteers around the world ... and it needs Jesus more than ever.

The CMN team in Vietnam is doing a powerful work. But they need prayer, support, and encouragement. That's what our team of men brought this week. And it's what we bring to nations around the world every week.

When a man is discipled in Christ, it changes everything. We told the hundreds of pastors we met with, We're not here just to do meetings. We are here to transform a nation by discipling men...to launch a men's movement. Vietnam for Jesus!

In 375 BC, the Spartan army led by Leonidas and others had been undefeated for over 300 years. In battle after battle, their tenacity, ferocious spirit, and brilliant leadership had carried them to victory for three centuries. Then they came up against the Theban Army.

On the night before the battle, the Theban king Epaminondas gathered his men. He said, "Men, tomorrow we go up against the greatest army in the region. But I believe you can win. If you fight together."

Then he said, "I need you to do one thing for me tomorrow during the battle." The army said, "Yes, king, we will do that." They fully committed. "When you hear the trumpet. I need you to take one step forward ... just one step. Every man, one step forward."

The next day in the midst of the great battle, Epaminondas had the trumpet sounded. As one, the entire army took one step forward. Every man ... just one step.

Because they took one step in unity, as one ... for the first time in centuries, the Spartan army was defeated.

The pastors and leaders across Vietnam have taken this foundational scripture to heart. "Commit these words to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." 2 Timothy 2:2. It's one step forward.

Today, across this nation, God is raising up men who are willing to take one step forward.

Joining forces and equipping heroes like these men is the reason we give, work, pray, sweat, and make the effort. Because if we're willing to take one step forward - for the sake of others. It changes everything.

We're about to land. Please pray for the teams across Brazil, Uganda, Argentina, the Philippines, and over 90 other nations who are working as you read this.

Pray for the team headed to the Middle East. And pray for the nation God has sent you to.

I love you and thank the Lord for you.

Your friend, brother, and ally.

Grace and Peace,

Paul Louis Cole
