The first time I surfed a wave, really stood up and surfed to the end of the break, I could not explain it. It was a stunning feeling. I’m sure I told my friends, “That was so stoking!” But I couldn’t put it into words. I still can’t.
Can you explain how you felt the first time you climbed a mountain, or sold a big deal or the first time you told your girlfriend “I love you”? Can you explain how you felt the first time you held your child, or said goodbye to a wonderful friend who had passed, or built your first cabin? Can you explain the feeling?
It’s hard to express what is felt at Lions Roar every year. So many men tell me after – “Paul, you were right. It’s lifechanging.” It might be a word that hits your heart, a moment of anointed breakthrough, a healing in your heart or body, a fresh passion … it’s many things.
It’s all God.
