When you have a "bad throw" in pottery, the project on the potter’s wheel is ruined. In the workshop of a potter, working on the pottery wheel is called “throwing clay.” A bad throw means your vase, jar or art piece is ruined … you lump it back together in a large clump of clay and start over.
Isaiah 64:8 reads, "LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand."
Have you ever sensed that maybe you were a bad throw? That you might as well be put back into a large lump of clay and God should start over?
Well, that’s why we have this new year. It’s a start over. A fresh beginning.
I think as men, we all feel at times like we’re just not measuring up. The blessing of being in Christ is that he redeems our humanness. He forgives us, loves us, renews our mind. He covers us with grace and his mercies are fresh every day.
Ephesians 2:10 says that you are God’s masterpiece. He created you with purpose and design.
Let me say it another way … God’s never made a bad throw.
You are the right man.
